I wrote this song after a conversation with my friend Sylvia. She was telling the story of being in the grocery store line, behind a young mother whose baby was having a crying, screaming meldown. Sylvia remembered what that felt like, although now she’s well into her grandmother years. She eased close to the despairing mother and said, “You’re a good mom. You’re doing a great job. Hang in there.” And it seemed like the momma felt a little better because of that moment of support.

You never really know when your acts of kindness might save someone who’s at the end of their rope. So, to me, it’s important to get our faces out of our phones and look for opportunities to add more kindness to the world.

And that’s what this song is about.
